We have been running Holiday Care on site at Hungerford Primary School since 2015.  We plan play and learning activities for the children and take the opportunity to make the best of the extensive school grounds.  We take great care with our hygiene and cross contamination measures to ensure we provide an environment that is as safe as possible for your children and our staff.

FAQs

What care is available?

We will care for your child from 9am to 3pm each week day.

If required, we can also provide a Breakfast Club from 8am to 9am and an Aftercare Club from 3pm until 6pm.  Please let us know if your child will need to attend either of these Clubs by checking the relevant box on the Booking and Consent Form or Short Booking form, as required.

We can continue to provide this care on Good Friday and Easter Monday for those who require it.

How will Social Distancing be considered?

Parents will be asked to drop children at the main school entrance.  Only one family can enter the main foyer of the school at a time.  A queue must be made in the school car park with a space of at least 2 meters between each family.  Please be aware that the car park will be in use.  Please use the pavements where possible.

The children’s temperatures will be checked on arrival, at lunchtime and at any time they show signs of illness.

We will observe strict cleaning and cross infection measures in line with the Government guidance.  We will use the main school hall as our base, together with any other appropriate areas of the school, as needed, to make sure there is adequate space for each child to play at a safe distance from each other.

What should the children wear?

The children will need to wear loose clothing and suitable footwear for doing a bit of running about in.

What should they bring with them?

They should bring a named waterproof jacket, sun hat, water bottle and, if necessary, sunscreen with them.  Children should not bring valuable toys or electronic devices with them.  Children are not able to use mobile phones on site.

What food is provided?

During the school day, a healthy snack and a picnic lunch are provided. We can make arrangements to accommodate specific dietary needs (please give us details on your Registration and Consent Form).  Lunch is provided by Hungerford Primary School’s caterers.

Breakfast is provided during Breakfast Club and Afternoon Tea is provided during Aftercare Club.

If you prefer to provide your child with a snack from home and or a packed lunch, please send this with them in a named container.

What will they be doing?

They will take part in some fun physical activities as well as having the opportunity to relax, play safely and explore the chosen topic for camp through a range of quality, learning activities.
